SHORT FILMS

During my time at UC Berkeley, I have held significant roles to bring short film concepts to life! From starting out as a PA, I've explored what it is to be a 2nd AD, and Art Director, a Director of Photography and more through these projects. Many are a result of ongoing collaborations with other film students at UCB, who are namely part of Delta Kappa Alpha, a premiere professional fraternity dedicated to the cinematic arts. The DKA community has been essential to my time as a student because of the lack of production courses offered in the film curriculum at times!

Please enjoy watching!

Camera Obscura (2020)

A family man's obsession with vintage cameras may have gone too far when he comes across a deadly one.

My roles in this project were as co-Art Director and DIT. This was a very fun exercise in how to dress sets, find props, and stylize characters with little to no budget.

TABLE MANNERS (2019)

Co-produced a short narrative film about a single mom introducing her new girlfriend to her traditional family on Chinese New Year.

Directed by a dear friend, Tiana Lucerne Cheung

Fun fact: 67% of the crew were people of color, 43% of the crew identified as LGBTQIA+, and 1 key cast member identified as non-binary. Also, the majority of the crew was made up of UC Berkeley college students.

SCREENSHOTS

THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA (2020)

One morning in January of 2020, I drove myself to the town pier of Fort Lauderdale, my hometown. A friendly fisherman let me rest in his space, observing his routine and his interactions with the nosy birds.

One morning in March of 2020, after the COVID 19 outbreak, I edited and colored this video because I couldn't sleep and missed the beach.

This is the result, hopefully inspiring some resilience and storytelling in this challenging time.

Audio not my own: An audiobook rendition of Earnest Hemmingway's The Old Man and the Sea and royalty free sound effects as well as Artlist music soundtrack

THE OXFORD TRACT: FORAGE RADISHES (SPRING 2019)

As part of an apprenticeship, I and another fellow interviewed two graduate students who supervised the cultivation of crops at the Oxford Tract, one of UC Berkeley's few places for urban farming and agricultural research.

In this particular video, we approach what no tillage is and the necessity of places such as the Oxford Tract for urban sprawls that may be impacted by food deserts.
